Frieder Krups - Langenfeld, Germany
As
the oldest son of the “Krups” Family (coffee- and espresso-makers), Frieder
entered the family company following his education at MIT and the Stanford
Business School. After 6 years, he became technical director, leading 2,000
people at locations worldwide.
After the sale of Krups, Frieder founded a logistics consulting company,
participated in the turnaround of an international consumer goods firm, and
built a company supplying innovative logistics technology. When this company
failed at the end of 2000, he entered a period of soul-searching immersing
himself in a broad range of world philosophies, and re-discovering both his
emotionality and his soul.
Frieder now uses his broad personal and managerial experience to coach and
support leaders in their efforts to navigate their companies, their YPO forums
and/or their personal lives to a higher, more authentic level. At the same time,
he has begun to realize his childhood dream of “Helping the Third World.” Using
his skills, experience and contacts as a businessman, he empowers disadvantaged
individuals and communities in the developing world to take the future into
their own hands, while mobilizing others to join him in this cause.
Frieder is separated and has four children between 13 and 23 years old. An avid
adventurer, Frieder has crossed the Aegean Sea in a rubber dinghy, kayaked down
the Yukon, and climbed Mt. McKinley in Alaska. He now enjoys snow-boarding,
tennis and volleyball with his children, and is a novice kite-surfer.
