Seminars and Workshops

Every OnCourse Training event is tailored to the demographics of the audience. Jim works closely with the event organizers to understand their goals for the event and how the seminar or workshop can best complement those goals.

Below are example abstracts for a 50-minute breakout session and a half-day workshop, both targeted to a group of senior business executives and their spouses, attending a 3-day conference.

How Do I Feel Good Again?

"Everyone views me as successful, but my passion for life is quite low. I feel slow and sluggish. I'm going through the motions in my work and in my relationships. I don't seem to have any energy. If I'm so successful (powerful, wealthy, significant, in control), why do I feel so blocked and empty? How do I feel good again?"

Conventional routes to success often leave high-achieving people drained, disillusioned and cut off from others - even if they achieve their "goals" - because the conventional road bypasses the inner journey. True, sustainable aliveness, grounded in an inner peace, can only be achieved by self-exploration and a desire to reestablish the precious flow of life through us.

This seminar presents the common ways energy and passion get drained out of our lives, how to get them back, and how to amplify the flow of life into us, through us and out to others.

When Having It All Isn't Enough

Discovering Your Destiny In Life's Second Half

At this half-day workshop, we review the common symptoms, patterns and stories of high achievers (entrepreneurs, family business leaders, executives, professionals) - and their spouses - who are navigating challenging midlife transitions.

We then break into small groups for discussions and exercises about navigating specific transitions in:

  • Life Work (sold, bankrupt, partner fallout, loss of passion, captive to money, captive to recognition)
  • Marriages (communications, conflict, intimacy, sexuality, menopause, empty nest)
  • Money (making, protecting, giving; financial independence or prison?)
  • Identity (who are you? . inside and outside of your vocation)
  • Spirituality (yearnings, connection, peace, significance, anger, where do I start?)
  • Other Relationships (parenthood, aging parents, estranged siblings, loneliness, finding mentors)
  • Diversions & Addictions (work, alcohol, food, sex, substances, money)
  • Personal Mission & Destiny (looking into life's second half):
    • What is life for?
    • What do you really want in your life?
    • What is blocking you from getting it?

The Value to Participants:

  • The opportunity, if they choose, for participants to explore their tough, personal issues in a confidential environment
  • Specific tools for redirecting their lives toward sanity and purpose.
  • Tools and vignettes helping them reconnect with self, others and Spirit.
