Chapter Programs
Monthly Chapter Meeting Programs
Jim is a regular speaker at monthly chapter meetings on topics such as Life Transition and Authentic Relationships. These are typically 45-minute presentations, followed by Q & A. Each presentation is tailored to the specific demographics of the chapter (e.g., members only, members and spouses, 49ers invited), after discussions with the Chapter Education Chair and Day Chair for the event.

Claiming Your Greatness
How YPOers, WPOers and Spouses Move from Disillusionment to Discovery to Destiny
We have our names on the door, the vacation home, and the envy of our peers. Our net worth may be well into the millions. Our spouse is visible and vibrant, and our do-it-all kids are targeted for big things. Outwardly, we seem to have it all, but behind the scenes...
We spin in an endless cycle of obligations, lacking life purpose or peace. We feel driven to amass more wealth . because there is never enough. Our spouse and kids resent us for putting career ahead of family. We long for a spiritual connection, but don't know where or how to begin. We have few friends or mentors who will tell us the truth. Our lives may look good on the outside, but inside we're beginning to sense: This Isn't Working.
In this engaging session ex-YPOer and transition expert, Jim Warner, presents the common symptoms, patterns and stories of leaders and spouses who are navigating challenging life transitions. Based on his confidential and intimate retreat experiences with over 1,200 YPOers and WPOers, and hundreds of spouses, Jim offers tips, pitfalls and vignettes around facing the issues of Identity, Power, Money, Control, Destiny, Relationships and Spirituality.
YPOers, WPOers and spouses learn specific tools for redirecting their lives toward sanity, purpose, and aliveness. Jim also offers riveting stories from his YPO and WPO forum retreat and transition seminar work that help you reconnect with your self, your soul, your family, others and Spirit.
Chapter Integration and "Bonding" Events
Often, chapter officers lament that little intimacy exists within their chapter outside
of the forum experience. They also struggle to integrate newer members and spouses into the flow of the chapter experience. To address these intimacy and integration issues, we create customized half-day and full-day chapter experiences, and multi-day chapter retreats, that engage members and spouses in forum-like discussions and stretching, team-building adventures. These events are a blend of teaching, small group discussions and physical challenges. The experiences range from emotionally gut-wrenching to hilariously gut-busting.
Here's an example abstract for a half-day workshop on midlife transition:
When Having It All Isn't Enough
Discovering Your Destiny in Life's Second Half
YPO - WPO Chapter Workshop
At this half-day event you'll be invited into a confidential, forum-like environment for both self-exploration and a deeper connection with other members and spouses within the chapter. We'll review the common symptoms, patterns and stories of YPOers and WPOers (entrepreneurs, family business leaders, professional managers) - and their spouses - who are navigating challenging midlife transitions.
We'll break into small groups for discussions and exercises about navigating specific transitions in:
- Life Work (sold, bankrupt, partner fallout, loss of passion, captive to money, captive to recognition)
- Marriages (communications, conflict, intimacy, sexuality, menopause, empty nest)
- Money (making, protecting, giving; financial independence or prison?)
- Identity (who are you? . inside and outside of the business)
- Spirituality (yearnings, connection, peace, significance, anger, where do I start?)
- Other Relationships (parenthood, aging parents, estranged siblings, loneliness, finding mentors)
- Diversions and Addictions (work, alcohol, food, sex, substances, money)
- Personal Mission and Destiny (looking into life's second half):
- What is your life for?
- What do you really want in your life?
- What is blocking you from getting it?
Members and spouses will have the opportunity, if they choose, to explore their tough, personal issues in a forum-like environment. They'll leave with specific tools for redirecting their lives toward sanity and purpose, along with insights into deeper connections with loved ones.
